BlizzCon 2026: World of Warcraft: Forever revealed

Blizzard announced World of Warcraft: Forever at BlizzCon 2026: a standalone, permanent version of the original Azeroth that keeps the level cap at 60 and grows sideways with new zones, dungeons, raids, a new race and new race/class combinations. Beta 17 September, launch 4 November.

Forever sits alongside modern World of Warcraft and Classic as its own continuity. The cap stays at 60; instead of expansions, the world grows with new content in the original Azeroth.

What was announced

  • Skyborne, a new playable race that picks Alliance or Horde at creation. Alliance Skyborne can be Mages, Horde Skyborne can be Shaman; both can be Warriors, Hunters, Rogues and Druids, with druid forms made for the race.
  • New race/class combinations for existing races, including Forsaken Paladins and Dwarf Shamans.
  • New zones: Zephras Isle (Skyborne start), Riverglades (a 30s–40s frontier with 150+ quests), Mount Hyjal and Shen'dralas.
  • Nine dungeons, including Hall of Thanes, Ruins of Lordaeron, City of Dalaran, Blackmaw Hold, Drowned City, Krol'dok Stronghold, Alcaz Prison and Shaper's Terrace.
  • Two raids at first: Hyjal Summit (20 players) and Barrow Deeps (10 players), unlocking 9 December. Every raid tier will offer at least one 10-player and one 20-player raid.
  • A 15v15 battleground, Darkspear Islands; a Legacy progression system for alt-lovers; Camping with shared campfire buffs; opt-in transmog; HD and classic character models; gamepad support.
